Training

Our training programmes are aimed at a range of individuals and organisations. As well as our standard training packages, we are able to offer in-house training tailored to meet your needs. Our courses and workshops are led by experienced clinical psychologists and allied health professionals.

We provide training in a number of areas, specialising in working with staff teams in day care and residential settings. Our current suite of training programmes includes:

Providing an introduction to Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), this is a core module.

In order to progress to the ‘add-on’ modules listed below, candidates need to have taken a core module or be able to provide evidence that they have a basic understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Our ‘add-on’ modules include:

  • Working therapeutically with individuals with ASC
  • Sensory integration and ASC
  • Supporting individuals with ASC and behaviours that challenge
  • Forensic issues and ASCs

This is a core module which focuses on supporting individuals who have a learning disability (LD).

In order to progress to the ‘add-on’ modules listed below, candidates need to have taken a core module or be able to provide evidence that they have a basic understanding of working with individuals with a learning disability.

Our ‘add-on’ modules include:

  • Working with individuals who have an LD and behaviours that challenge
  • Working with and protecting vulnerable adults

This training programme is aimed at foster carers, adopters, social workers and other professionals.

Our ‘Putting your oxygen mask on first before attempting to help others’ programme covers the importance of ensuring your own emotional well-being (including using supervision effectively) when caring for others.

We also provide a general programme covering an introduction to mental health issues.
